COVID-19 SAFE WORKPLACE TRAINING

The Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards recently issued Proposed COVID-19 Workplace Safety Regulations. The proposed regulations largely mirror workplace safety measures already in place by the state.
Among other things, the proposed regulations require (1) social distancing, hygiene, and disinfecting protocols, (2) implementation of a written COVID-19 control plan, (3) prohibiting employees with COVID-like symptoms from reporting to work, and (4) notification to local health officials if employers become aware of a presumptive COVID-19 case or positive test in the workplace.
The Department intends to hold a hearing on the proposed regulations on October 14, 2020.
