Oregon COVID-19 Safe Workplace Training Update

COVID-19 SAFE WORKPLACE TRAINING

Update

November 9, 2020

Clear Law Institute provides compliant and current Covid-19 Safe Workplace training. Our training complies with CDC and OSHA guidelines and the growing number of states mandating COVID-19 workplace safety training. Our Compliance Advisory Team regularly monitors federal and state authorities and updates the training, as needed.

On November 6, 2020, Oregon OSHA adopted an Emergency Temporary Rule to address the COVID-19 pandemic in the workplace,

Among other workplace measures, the Rule requires employers to provide employee training on COVID-19 no later than December 21, 2020. The Rule specifically notes that if “training [was] provided before the adoption of this rule complies with all or any portion of the required training, the employer does not need to repeat the training but may need to take steps to ensure that additional information is covered and that appropriate employee feedback can be provided.”

The Rule is effective on November 16, 2020. It remains in effect for 180 days from adoption, unless it is repealed sooner. Oregon OSHA will immediately begin work on a permanent infectious disease rule that will also include requirements specific to COVID-19.

*CLI is in the process of reviewing the Oregon COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Rule. The Oregon state resources will be updated, as needed, on November 16, 2020, when the Rule becomes effective.
