Expected under Biden Administration
Protecting employees from COVID-19 is a top priority under the Biden administration. Worker safety experts predict OSHA will issue COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standards within the first few months of Biden’s first term, similar to California, Michigan, Oregon, and Virginia.
Workplace safety professionals anticipate employee training to be a key element of the OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard. Other COVID-19 workplace safety measures could include COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plans, health screening, face masks, social distancing, cleaning protocols, and employee leave. Increased enforcement is also anticipated as Biden has promised to double the amount of OSHA inspectors.
